What I love about being a Nurse Practitioner/ Philosophy of Care

I love the need to continually learn and the opportunity to use my knowledge to serve individuals looking for answers to their health problems. My patients challenge me. I like to find the cause of problems a patient has rather than treat symptoms with a band aid. I enjoy de-prescribing medications when appropriate and simplifying medical treatment. I subscribe to the Whole Person Theory by Anna Vaughn. I don’t see my patients as a disease to be treated (i.e. just a physical body), but persons with a heart and soul whose health is shaped by the well being of their bodies, as well as their relationship with their self, others and God.

Hobbies: Anna lives in Colorado and loves the Rocky Mountains. She enjoys spending time with her daughters; pursuing business growth; reading, writing, hiking, swimming and baking.

What I love about being a Provider/ Philosophy of Care

“After years of training and experience in the world of nursing/medicine, I’ve come to understand that medication is useful to buy the body time to heal itself. The most important ingredient to healing is to place the body in the right environment to allow self-healing. Creating the right environment for healing requires a wholistic approach that may include vitamin or herbal supplementation, and dietary changes. As a naturopathic doctor and nurse practitioner, I enjoy helping you discover your “right environment”.

What I love about being a Nurse Practitioner/ Philosophy of care:

I love providing efficient and quality care access to patients and families with an emphasis on person centered care. I see virtual health visits as a means for improving efficiency, access and close follow up with my patients. Virtual visits offer individuals an avenue to seek health care when they may otherwise be unable or reluctant to do so.
When I provide virtual care, I am able to give prompt medical attention to individuals needing it, and I am able to triage their needs to determine if they need to be seen by urgent care or the emergency department. Through telemedicine I get to have a farther reach into communities I would never otherwise be able to serve.

Hobbies: Certified Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR) diver, scuba diver, shipwreck diver, divemaster, walleye fishing, riding BMW motorcycle across the USA, international travel. Disney fanatic- I love everything Disney.
